MARCH KIT INSPIRATION | KEEPSAKE | ONE OF A KIND

Hi like for ever friends! It’s Monique here today sharing another layout created with the fabulous like for ever March Keepsake Kit. I really adore this kit and could create with it for months on end!! For today’s layout I decided to challenge myself to use products I normally don’t choose “automatically” like the washi tape and the stamps in this kit. I love seeing other scrappers’ layouts using stamps and inks, but I feel more comfortable using colourful patterned papers, but not for today’s layout! So here’s what I did:

The soft colours and girly patterns of the Chasing Dreams papers and washi tapes asked for a photo of my daughter rather than my sons, so here she is again. The photo was taken in London the year before last. The weather was so awesome we decided to have a Frappuccino and sit on the little terrace in front of Starbucks and let our feet rest a bit!

Let me show you quickly how I created my page. I started with sticking down strips of washi tape:

Followed by the Heidi Swapp stamps and Mister Huey’s ink drops (ink was from my own stash):

I adore the Heidi Swapp envelopes that were included in the kit and wanted to use the pink/white striped one. I adhered a small strip of paper on the left side and wanted to glue the photo on top, so that the gold flap of the envelope still showed, but one of the eyelets got in the way and had to go:

Now I could go ahead and adhere the matted photo on top. On the right side of the photo I tucked some die-cuts partly under the photo and added some machine stitching:

Also on the right of the photo, but a bit higher I added another die-cut and a wood veneer piece on top. I used the gold Vicki Boutin pen to colour the wood veneer first and stamped an arrow on top, but that doesn’t show very well in the photo:

On the left side of my photo I added a few die-cuts and machine stitching as well:

For the finishing touch I used my chevron border punch to punch the top right and bottom left of my layout and adhered a little bit of leftover paper behind it and I was done!

Hope you like it!

Thank you so much for stopping by like for ever’s blog. Have a great day!

xx Monique
