We’re delighted to welcome Iliana Tchilingirian back to the blog today for our regular Throwback Thursday blog post. Here’s Iliana’s explanation of how this layout came together:
For this layout, I decided to delve back into the wintertime ‘Twenty Sixteen’ Kit to create a summer layout! (Mind you, it was still pretty cold because, as you can see my Auntie is wearing her jacket in my Dad’s back garden!) I wanted to be quite liberal with the embellishments since I’ve hardly touched them, so I strung up 14 tags from the Heidi Swapp packet along the DIY Shop gold twine. That felt so good!
I also broke out the mixed media, since I received the Ocean Color Shine mist in my kit that month (to go with the Thickers which I’ve left blank this time).
I’ve therefore sprinkled a bit of this across the page along with other inks, which I think enhances the party atmosphere! The funniest thing for me is how frugal I’ve been with the actual kit paper – I cut into the Studio Calico Goldie 007 just for the yellow bow… But that was it! All the rest is pretty much the matching Studio Calico Washi Stickers across the bottom and Heidi Swapp Ephemera from the kit.
I hope you enjoyed my off-season page from wintry product. It just goes to show it’s possible to defrost a well-stored kit for a Summer sizzle!
And we couldn’t agree more – definitely a layout with lots of Summer sizzle! A huge thank you to Iliana for visiting us again today and for reminding us that ‘seasonal’ kits can work just as well for any time of the year. If you’d like to enjoy more of Iliana’s work, you’ll find her over at YouTube as PaperTchil and also via her Instagram and Flickr account. Please do hop over and say hello!
