Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend.
Today I’m sharing a layout that combines November’s Stargazer Kit with lots of white space and layering. Whenever I choose the contents for a kit, there’s always a patterned paper that speaks to me. In this case it was the floral patterned paper that you see in a strip along the top of the layout. As you can probably tell, I’m using it sparingly in the hope that I can hoard a piece!
The photo is one that was taken of me when I was just a few months old. Look at those chubby cheeks! I used a die cut frame from the WRMK Urban Chic ephemera pack to draw attention to this and then added several layers behind the photo in a higgledy-piggledy fashion. All of the layers measure 3×4″ and I’ve just rotated these at different angles to create that layered look, tucking the odd journaling spot in here and there to add to the layers.
Underneath and to the left of the photo I tucked a doily before adding Pink Paislee Luxe rub on hearts and a flair badge. I added some stitching in gold thread to the heart before adhering on foam dots. The gold thread picks up on the gold in the flair badge and frame. I love the way that it shines but it was an absolute pain to sew with!
To the right of the photo I tucked a gold foil die cut banner and used a tear strip to create another longer banner to layer underneath. The heart and floral squares you see peeking out were taken from Pink Paislee Moonstruck Paper 09. The little squares that make up the pattern on this paper are great for trimming and tucking beneath photos – one of those papers where a little goes a very long way.
Now that my mojo has returned I have another idea brewing so hope to see you later this week for more of our Stargazer Kit.
