Hi everyone, it’s great to be back with another layout for you today. October is flying by but I am enjoying spending my free time playing with this month’s ‘Harmony’ kit. Totally loving the gold glittery bling in the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes ‘Gather’ collection!
I have recently started playing around with more mixed media techniques on my layouts so thought I would give it a go for my Guest Designer spot. I’ve created a process video so you can see how the page came together. The only thing I don’t like with mixed media is waiting for things to dry! Apologies in advance as I had a couple of camera issues with this video.
I’m so pleased with how this 9×12 page turned out. It was exactly how I’d envisaged it in my head. I always worry when I start a background with watercolour as I think it looks horrendous so my advice would be, plough on and finish the page because it usually turns out well in the end. Nicola did a fantastic job of matching the add-on Mr Huey mists to the kit.
Some of you may have seen this monument on the news last month as the day we arrived in Uzbekistan their President’s funeral was held in this square and it was one of the headlines on the BBC news. We actually came here three times – day, dusk and night. It was great to see it in all it’s glory!
I’ll be back soon with my final Guest Designer project and this time it’s something off the page.
