Happy Saturday, everyone!
It’s been a busy week this week and I confess to having a very, very hard time keeping away from our new release ‘Harmony’ Kit whilst packing and shipping has been taking place. All of those lovely Autumnal colours have been calling my name and so I was totally in my element yesterday when I finally had time to sit and create.
I knew that I wanted to make use of one of the free cut files available to subscribers this month and so decided to cut and create a ‘bed’ of leaves as the background to my photo and layers. In the end, it ended up being less of a ‘bed’ and more row after row but I still love the texture this adds overall. The background leaves are adhered to a cardstock layer so they appear ‘thicker’ than they usually would – more like a chipboard but without the gloss!
On top of the rows of leaves I added a glassine bag to hold a tag with hidden journaling then added some of the totally gorgeous Maggie Holmes Gather Beautiful paper before adding a pennant and the photo. It’s difficult to see in the image above but each layer is added using thin foam pads so there’s a gradual build up of height and dimension.
Once the photo was in place, I then used various leaves and a journaling spot from the Gather sticker sheet to embellish. The title ‘bonjour’ is taken from the Heidi Swapp epoxy words contained within the ‘Harmony’ Kit. Whenever I’m using stickers, I always look for the opportunity to slice them in half like the tiny flower sticker you see above. That way there’s no wastage underneath the photo and you end up with not one but two layers!
The falling leaves were a last minute addition to the layout. I decided it needed something to take your eye from the top of the page down and so more leaves and a smattering of sequins it was. I’m thinking you’re going to be seeing a whole abundance of leaves from me this month!
Thank you for visiting today and I hope you’ve enjoyed the first share of our new release ‘Harmony’ Kit. I’m off to cut more leaves!
