Happy International Woman’s day for every lady! Today I’d like to show you my new layout created with the absolutely versatile Keepsake Kit. This layout is about creative life, a messsage to my daugther from Saint-Exupery because being creative is an adventure. “True happiness comes from the joy of deeds well done, the zest of creating things new.”
I started by painting a black background on white cardstock. I used chalkboard paint, but you can achieve the same result with acrylic paint.
Once my paint was dry I added my journaling to the bottom center of the page with a white Vicky Boutin pen.
I also used my Vicky Boutin pens to add color to the Studio Calico Wood Veneer Banners. First I added a yellow layer followed by a pink. I tried to get the same color as the orange of the “adventure” cut out.
I cut out and layered together some Life Pages cards from the Maggie Holmes Adventure patterned paper and a 4×6 piece from the Hello Beautiful double sided paper. I created a rosette with cake lace and a label from the Project Life Fresh Edition Ephemera.
Now comes my favorite part! When I was ready with my journaling and all the embellishments I wanted to make, I glued down everything on this gorgeous Glitter on Acetate specialty paper.
Finally I wanted to fix my Glitter on Acetate specialty paper to the painted cardstock, so I turned it over and I added some double sided glue tape just behind the photo.
Truthfully my first idea was to create a transparent layout, but adding this black background gives more dimension to my page I think. I love this airy look, that the glitter dots are floating above the journaling.
Have fun creating!
Julia
