Hello all! I hope you’re well, and that you’ve had a fabulous beginning to 2017. Today I’m so excited to share my first project with you, using the beautiful Woodland kit. I have used Project Life to document my memories for 3 years now, and I’m absolutely hooked. Every year, I create a title page for my album, and there were some elements in this kit that I felt would be perfect.
Please excuse my wonky photography; the Canon Selphy prints photos slightly smaller than 6×4, so it’s hard to get things square! I wanted to keep my title page really simple this year, and I knew that black and white photos would make it easier to coordinate colours. On Christmas Day, my little brother took a series of photos of myself and my boyfriend with our dogs, so I thought they’d be the perfect ones to use (though a few of them are bloopers!) along with some selfies from the end of 2016.
I started with my title card, which again, I wanted to keep simple. I knew that I just HAD to showcase the beautiful Hazelwood Roses paper from the kit. I trimmed a 6×4 piece and outlined it to add a little interest, before adhering a white doily off-centre. The “Life is Lovely” phrase from the decorative thickers was just perfect for this card, and I finished the titles with a cute pastel and gold arrow from the same thicker pack. To complete the card, I layered up a tab and floral die cuts from the ephemera pack, dotted around some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and splattered some of my favourite gold Heidi Swapp Colour Shine.
